in the bleak midwinter

january.

short days, early evenings, cozy nights in.

soup. homemade rolls.

snow days, sledding, making a snowman.

bonfires, hot cocoa, layers of blankets.

january.

it is also the first few days of the brand new year when people across the globe make new resolutions and promise to do better this year, to stay on track and not give up. but what if we approached january differently. what if....

instead of rushing the end of each year and already feeling like a failure because we don't have our resolutions in place by the first of january, what if we used the entire month of january to be our diving board. what if we took time to lean into the month of slow winterness to feel our true selves, to lay it all out, to truly understand the events, growth, and emotions of the previous year and use that to give us insight and inspiration for this next one?

what if we spent an entire month crafting out what the year would look like and how we could give ourselves the best possible opportunities to achieve those goals? what if we embraced a month of slow weekends after the over-stimulation of the holiday season to find our passions and what pushes us forward?

has rushing into a year with half-thrown together last minute resolutions ever worked out for you? maybe this is the year you choose slow intentional crafting of your goals. to help you really use this month to elevate your resolution making, i created a 2024 plan for you to download. there is a page that says "quick thoughts and spur of the moment inspiration." i tend to have random thoughts about what i want to do, or how i will get from point a to point b, and while it's not clear enough to put into a goal quite yet, it is still important enough to write down for further honing. maybe you need to print a few of those pages. the beauty of this little packet over a planner is that you can print as many of a specific page as you would like. there is one page for detailing a goal, so if you have 10 goals, print 10 of those pages. i am so excited to share this with you.

let january be your entire month of leaning, listening, and planning.

january.

a month full of creativity by candlelight or fire-glow. a month of calm and reset. a month to craft your best year ever.
